On Thursday and Friday in social studies, we began to work comparing ancient civilizations. After wrapping up our analysis of farming vs foraging, we read about the impact of various ancient societies including civilizations in Greece, Rome, Ghana, Mesoamerica and more. Students worked in small groups to complete a chart on a civilization of their choice. Next week, groups will be working on creating a presentation about their ancient civilization. Announcements

Today in social studies, we analyzed the benefits and challenges of both farming and foraging. After completing their unit notes, students read an article about farming vs foraging as a class and wrote about their opinions on the topic. For the remainder of the week, we will be comparing ancient civilizations in small groups. Announcements
On Tuesday in social studies, students were introduced to Unit 7: Agriculture and Civilization. After taking a pretest covering unit content, students began to take guided notes on key topics and terms in this unit. Tomorrow we will wrap up our notes before taking a closer look at the impact of farming. Announcements
Today in social studies, students took the Unit 6 open-note assessment on their Chromebooks for a major grade. The assessment consisted of a variety of multiple-choice questions covering the topics we have learned about this unit. Tomorrow we will begin to learn about our next unit: Agriculture and Civilization. Announcements
