Today in class students wrote short essay responses to the question we have been asking all week: Why did the Roman Empire fall? Students used evidence from a variety of primary and secondary sources that we analyzed in class to formulate a claim. Today we had a great time participating in Track and Field Day! Boys and girls participated in a variety of events such as the medicine ball throw, high jump, long jump, relay races and dashes. After some fun in the sun, students can look forward to a three-day weekend! Next week we will wrap up our unit on Rome in social science as we discuss the fall of the Roman Empire. Announcements
Today in class we continued to take notes on the early Roman republic. Students were able to learn about and discuss Rome's early history, the formation of a republic in Rome and the structure of this new government. We will continue to learn about the early republic for the remainder of this week. Announcements
On Monday in social science we began our final unit on ancient Rome. Students discussed what they already know and what they would like to know about this ancient civilization.
