Today is our 6th grade Track and Field Day! Students worked in homeroom teams to compete with other homerooms in a variety of track and field events. After completing our competition, we had time to clean out our lockers, sign yearbooks, and enjoy a movie with our class. Tomorrow we will wrap up the school year in social studies as a whole. This week in social studies, we began our unit investigation on Unit 9: Acceleration. Our task is to investigate whether the Modern Revolution is a positive or a negative force. Using a variety of primary and secondary sources, students will make an individual claim answering the essential question of the investigation and will provide evidence using the sources. We will also have a guest speaker this week! After we complete this investigation, we will start wrapping up the year in social studies. Announcements
After wrapping up our unit on world interconnection last week, we began a new unit this week on the acceleration of collective learning. In class we took notes on key concepts and terms related to Unit 9: Acceleration. After completing our notes, we will dive into a unit investigation to examine the positive and negative effects of the Modern Revolution. Announcements
Today we closed out our unit by playing Kahoot as a class. We reviewed Unit 8 concepts relating to interconnection, trade, the Columbian Exchange, and more as we played. Tomorrow we will be introduced to Unit 9 as we begin to take notes on this new unit in class. Announcements
Today we engaged in a game of "Hot Seat" in social studies! Students took turns sitting in the hot seat at the front of the room and had to guess the image projected behind them using hints from classmates. All images were related to class content and we were able to review content from the unit as we played the game. Next week we will review what we have learned in this unit one last time as we play Kahoot. Announcements
As we begin our new unit on world interconnection, one of our main topics will be the spread of world religions.
